長崎県対馬から参加してくれたEnglish Club Megの生徒さんたち。
サマーキャンプで体験したこと、学んだことを夏休みの研究課題としてまとめてくれました。
いろんな国の人たちと出会った３日間

私は、サマーキャンプへの参加が決まってからは、待ち遠しくて仕方ありませんでした。三日間、ウォーミングアップゲーム、日本文化紹介、キャンプファイアーなど、どれも楽しかったです。その中で楽しかったのは、まが玉作りと海水浴です。
まが玉作りは、だんだん形が分かってきて楽しかったし、海水浴では海で泳いだり、でんぐりがえしをして遊びました。
一日目の夜、キャンプで知った海外の国々についての話をそれぞれの国の人に聞きました。思ったことは、インドのお嫁さんが着る服は、日本と全くちがうけど、ちょっとキラキラ輝いていていいなあーということです。他にもいろんな国の話しを聞けてとてもためになりました。
今回のサマーキャンプで色々な国の人や日本の様々な地域の人と接することが出来て本当によかったと思います。私ももっと勉強して英語が話せるようになりたいです。来年も参加したいです。

真の国際交流ができます
今年もサマーキャンプに団体参加させて頂き、16名の生徒がお世話になりました。私が和歌山から教室の生徒を引率するのは６回目です。毎年キャンプから帰ってきた子どもたちは口々に「友達がたくさんできて楽しかった。来年もまた行きたい！」と言っています。
このキャンプの特筆すべき点は、外国人リーダーだけでなく、アメリカやオーストラリアなど海外から来日する子どもたちも一緒に参加することです。文化紹介の時間が充実しているので、外国のことを教えてもらったり、日本のことを教えてあげたりと真の国際交流ができます。もちろん、英語を使って外国の子どもたちと直接交流できる小中学生は多くありません。しかし、英語が飛び交う中で寝食を共にして一緒にアクティビティを楽しむことは、日本ではなかなか経験できないと思います。
末筆になりましたが、猛暑の中で裏方としてキャンプを支えて下さったスタッフの皆様に感謝申し上げます。今年の夏休みも貴重な経験をさせていただきありがとうございました。

Treasurer for the Rest of Kid’s Lives
This year's camp was a resounding success! As always the Japanese children and the foreign honesty kids were really fired up and looking forward to spending some great times together at camp! The teachers, team leaders and assistants were equally motivated, and it showed in how smoothly they communicated between each other and created a safe and comforting environment for all the children in their and other groups. The bus ride was fun and the foreign students got to see the side of Japan that most tourists miss and once we reached the camp on Awaji everyone really go stuck into the introduction games and flag making.
That sense of group fun and excitement followed the students through every activity they took part in but they seemed to have the most fun whilst on the beaches! The water melon smashing game, the bonfire and of course the swimming really made this camp stand out from the others I have joined! As always the final day was great fun, watching the Japanese kids show the foreign students their culture and games and then watching the DVD of the three days really sealed the perfect camp. I had a wonderful time and I'm sure that everyone who took part made memories they will treasurer for the rest of their lives.
